About Us
Kintsugi is a bilingual mental health practice rooted in Kerala — building warm, culturally fluent care for individuals, couples, families and communities.
About Kintsugi
Kintsugi is a space created from a simple belief: it is ok to be broken, we can always put the pieces back together to become whole again, more beautifully. At Kintsugi, we believe a child is more than a behaviour, a parent is more than a mistake, and a difficult season is never the whole story. Kintsugi brings together psychological care, developmental support, parenting guidance, play therapy, school mental health and holistic wellbeing to support children, adolescents, families and communities. It is a place where you can come as you are, where your story is honoured, where healing can begin.

The beauty of healing
Kintsugi is a centuries-old Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. Instead of hiding the cracks, they are carefully highlighted, honouring each fracture as a unique part of the object's story. The repaired bowl becomes more beautiful and valuable—not despite its brokenness, but because of the journey it has lived. At its heart, Kintsugi is more than an art form; it is a philosophy of life. It reminds us that our wounds, losses, and struggles are not signs of weakness to be concealed, but experiences that shape our character, deepen our wisdom, and reveal our resilience. Every crack tells a story of survival, every scar reflects courage, and every repair becomes a symbol of hope. Rather than striving to return to who we once were, Kintsugi invites us to embrace who we are becoming—stronger, wiser, and more whole because of the experiences that have shaped us.
Our Leadership
The heart behind Kintsugi— Dr. Muhsina Lubaiba who is dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate, and evidence-based space where individuals, families and communities can heal, grow, and thrive.

Some journeys begin with a plan. Others begin with a quiet knowing that something, somewhere, needs to change. For Dr. Muhsina Lubaiba, the journey into psychology was never simply about choosing a profession. It was about choosing people. About choosing to stay present in moments of fear, uncertainty and despair. About believing that healing begins where human connection begins.
For more than two decades, her path has led through classrooms and counselling rooms, schools and research spaces, but more than anywhere else, it has led into people's stories—the ones often hidden behind silence, anger, laughter, achievement, or the simple words, "I'm fine." She has sat with children whose pain found its voice through behaviours rather than words; with parents whose love was abundant but whose hearts were full of questions; with adolescents searching for belonging in a world that asks them to become someone before they have discovered who they are; and with adults carrying invisible wounds that time alone could not heal.
And through every story, one quiet truth kept returning -people do not always need to be fixed. Sometimes they simply need to be seen. To be heard without hurry. To be held without judgement. To have someone sit beside them long enough for them to find their way back.
Years of work in psychology, education, child and adolescent development, parenting, play therapy and trauma-informed care slowly shaped not only her practice, but her philosophy of healing—one that looks beyond symptoms, to the person; beyond behaviour, to the need and beyond brokenness, to the possibility that still lives within it. It was in this philosophy that Dr. Muhsina found the timeless wisdom of Kintsugi—the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Not because it hides the cracks, but because it honours them, recognising that what has been broken can become even more beautiful through the way it is restored.
Today, that same belief continues to shape the way she walks alongside others. Not to erase pain or rewrite the past, but to gently remind people that they are more than what has happened to them. And perhaps, in the quiet presence of someone who truly sees them, they may begin to believe what was there all along—that even a heart marked by cracks can still carry light, love, and the courage to bloom again.
